The few friends I have here are scattered all around the island. As for that special one, she's back home. Unfortunately a short while after writing this things took another turn and our roads separated, but such is life. On the upside, it's always an interesting experience being somewhere new (even if I've been here for the past 3 years with breaks from time to time). As for the pain of being alone, it comes and passes, but friends are out there, no matter the distance, and that keeps me going. I’m alone in the UK, or better said I’m without any person whom I know for more than a couple of weeks. The few friends I have here are scattered all around the island.

Maybe because we're social beings and the thought of being alone in a strange country is hard to take in.  Are you alone now in the UK? Did you take that special someone with you or did you risk it and went alone? It must be a nice experience either way. At least that's how I see it. I'll post any more shortcuts if I find them.
